Parowan and Cedar City General InformationParowan sits at around 6400 ft elevation. It has a population of only a few thousand people many of whom are second home owners. There aren't even any stop lights. It is a great place that I am proud to call home. It was the second settlement in Utah and that is why it is called the mother town. Because of this status Parowan has remained the Iron County seat. There are some very beautiful country homes in Parowan. Summer temps rarely break 95 degrees. Winter temps are 50/20 usually and snow melts off a few days after storms. Many residents have summer gardens and compete in the Iron County fair held in Parowan in the fall. Within minutes you can be in the mountains and enjoying all they have to offer. Parowan was a second home for us years ago and now it is our first home. Cedar City Cedar City sits at around 6300 ft in elevation. Cedar city has a population of about 24,000 people and an average of about 35,000 in all of Iron county. With average summer temps of 90/60 and winter temps of 45/25 this is the place for mild weather year around. Cedar City gets snow in the winter a few inches at a time. The snow in Cedar City melts usually within a few days after it falls. Cedar City is home to national industrial and manufacturing companies which provide ample job opportunities for local citizens. We have an airport for small planes, I-15 access, and are conveniently located only a 2.5 hour drive from Las Vegas, Nevada and 3 hours from Salt Lake City, Utah. As the city grows, so do our opportunities for jobs and success. Growth is expected to continue over the next decade. Contractors and builders are busier than ever trying to keep up with the steady residential and commercial growth the area is witnessing. We would like to welcome you to be apart of this growth.
